Not giving up on POTUS
All those polls suggesting that President Biden is in deep doo-doo over a number of issues belie a fundamental point about such polling data.
They take “snapshots” in the moment. They do not predict future trends. Nor do they determine how a public figure will respond to those snapshots.
Joe Biden is as experienced a political hand as one can find. He knows how polls react and he knows how to respond to the news they deliver, be it good or bad.
I have staked my support to Biden’s success as president. He succeeded an abject failure as POTUS; of that I am utterly certain. Biden has stumbled to be sure. Hey, he is a fallible human being. He didn’t over promise and hasn’t under delivered.
The Afghanistan withdrawal was, um, not handled well. He refused for too long to refer to the migration along our southern border as a “crisis.” He projected — but didn’t promise — that we would be free of the pandemic by the Fourth of July; it hasn’t happened.
Am I going to throw in the proverbial towel on this guy? Am I now going to yearn for a return of the nitwit he drummed out of office? No and no.
I am going to keep the faith.
