Cruz tests resolve
Oh, how I hate using the word “hate” when describing my feelings about individuals in public life.
That said, I find myself tested possibly beyond my strength to avoid using that word by a certain U.S. senator from Texas: Ted Cruz, aka in this blog as The Cruz Missile.
I detest Cruz’s approach to governing, which is to erect roadblocks whenever possible regarding something that a politician from the Democratic Party wants to do.
For example …
Cruz has blocked dozens of State Department nominees because he dislikes a decision President Biden made to drop his opposition to an oil pipeline from Russia to Germany. The Cruz Missile’s response has been to single-handedly block — for the time being — a large number of ambassadors and other key envoys.
Cruz calls Biden’s policy toward Russia a “national security threat.” Meanwhile, Democrats and the White House assert that Cruz’s response is an even greater threat to our national security.
The Texas Tribune reports that at a comparable point in the Trump administration, Kay Bailey Hutchison was at her post as U.S. ambassador to NATO. President Biden wants to name a successor, but Julianne Smith cannot take her seat because of Ted Cruz’s obstinance.
This is the Cruz Missile at his worst. The man seeks to make a name for himself by obstructing whenever he can.
Dude makes me sick.
Really and truly, I am not a negative individual. I try like the dickens to see the good in most folks. Ted Cruz, though, tests that tendency almost every time I see his face and listen to the crap that flies out of his pie hole.
Sigh. It’s a cross I have to bear.
If only this clown would stop obstructing and start learning how to govern.
I don’t want to “hate” Ted Cruz. Then again … it’s up to him.
