Big Lie gets challenger
We all know about The Big Lie, yes? It’s the false narrative that the 2020 presidential election was “stolen” through phony widespread voter fraud.
Well, The Big Lie might be getting some challenges to its dubious and infamous place.
It’s the lie that vaccines don’t work, that the COVID-19 vaccines don’t prevent the spread of the killer virus.
Of course they do! Yet a doctor nominated to be Florida’s surgeon general is pitching the lie about the efficacy of vaccines developed to fight the deadly virus that has killed more than 750,000 Americans.
His name is about to become a household moniker: Joseph Ladapo.
He is looking more like a quack the more I hear about what he has said about the vaccines.
Ladapo’s name was pushed to the forefront after the previous surgeon general was removed by Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, who wanted to install a COVID vaccine denier into the office of Florida’s top doc.
Doctors in Florida are concerned about Ladapo’s pending appointment. WUSF-TV reports: The letter Tuesday outlined a series of questions about nominee Dr. Joseph Ladapo’s positions, including his opposition to required masks in schools. Many of his approaches to the COVID pandemic put him into conflict with the recommendations of the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the American Academy of Pediatrics on masks for children.
What the hell?
To think this individual well might become a leading spokesman for public health in Florida, a place that continues to record more hospitalization, more sickness from COVID-19 and more deaths than any other of our 50 states.
Uggghhh!
